I like the way you used POOL earnings as another data point to support the macro analysis, although this does have limitations as I assume swimming pools are more and indicator of the top end of the housing market only, and are also an optional "add on" - i.e. if house buyer's budget are under pressure they may choose to still buy a new house but pass on the swimming pool. On KBH (and other building stocks generally) the market clearly has other ideas currently, as it's in a clear uptrend making repeated new highs with continued support from the 50SMA. I'm curious to see how the price action could help with timing of this short idea. Would you: (1) take the trade immediately regardless since it's a long dated option; or (2) wait for a sign of break of the trend to the downside (eg price drops below 50SMA on the trend channel) for confirmation of a move; or (3) wait for price to hit a new high to give a cheaper price for the put options and a better risk/reward ratio. Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

cpi lags pretty aggressively.. if you look at ISM prices or container shipping rates out of china, everything is popping up again.
